Leaving on a jet plane

September 5, 2011

On Tuesday one of my favouritest ever people is moving to America for a year.  Well, almost a year.  A long time to have one of your top people on the wrong side of the Atlantic anyway.  So when she said she wanted a leaving party and did I want to organise it, of course I said yes!  I’ll be sharing some of the details with you this week (because obviously you are all soooo interested) but first up is some party inspiration gathered from around the internets.  I had a kind of airmail/travel/communication theme in my head, and there was a specific request for a photobooth, so those were the starting points.

Clockwise from top left we have a photobooth banner by The Krafty Fox, a beautiful mappy dessert table from a wedding photographed by Stone, printable air mail stationery from Ruffled, another of those gorgeous wedding photographs, very brilliant analogue facebook, another lovely mappy wedding photographed by Benj Haisch, airmail envelope notebook by paper and linen, and mappy Scrabbley art from la douleur exquise.

I hope you don’t miss your friend too much but it is tough being on different time zones. My oldest bestest buddy went to Australia for a year in 2007 and I really missed her but we managed to keep in touch. In fact, I recently read all the old messages we sent each other during the year and they made me laugh-cry-laugh. A year will pass really quickly! Although having said that, since she has come back to the UK she has moved about a 2 hour drive away and we don’t see so much of each other now either. But being on the same time zone means we can spent lots of time chatting on the phone.

I can’t wait to see the leaving party plans progress! x

Say hello
