Floods and festivities

A few weeks ago I took a trip down south to see my sister and her family, and stopped off to visit some friends in York on the way home. It was the weekend of the terrible flooding so there were many delayed trains and flooded fields, but thankfully my friends’ house was not affected and York was looking especially pretty all dressed up for Christmas, with the lights and the rain making the pavements sparkle.

York always seems to go all out for Christmas – these pictures really capture what I remember about York at this time of year.
