Roman holiday
We’re off to Rome today! All going well with flights and blog scheduling we’ll be on the plane as this post is published! My brilliant boyfriend arranged this trip as a birthday surprise for me and I am SUPER excited. In preparation (and just to ramp up the excitement levels some more) we’ve been watching Rome-themed films over the last few weeks, including Roman Holiday (Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck and some high jinks in 1950s Rome), To Rome with Love (Woody Allen’s latest offering of sweet and surreal stories set in the Italian capital) and Angels & Demons (Tom Hanks tackling murder, intrigue and secret societies in and around the Vatican). Roman Holiday was definitely my favourite but all have helped to get me in the mood for wandering around the (hopefully) sun drenched streets eating ice cream and pizza and ooh-ing and aah-ing over ancient sites (and avoiding any assassins that happen to be lurking around)!
Oh I hope you have fun. You’ve just made me want to rewatch Roman Holiday. I love that film & all of Audry Hepburn’s films really.
I’m dying to go to Rome someday! In the meantime, I’ll just live vicariously through all your photos
