I’m back!

September 18, 2012

I’ve been neglecting this blog to keep the other one updated – check it out for photos of the walk and tales of long days and terrible weather and lost toenails.  But we did it and have raised a heap of money and I’m feeling pretty proud of myself.  And now it’s back to normal life, and normal blogging.  So what did I miss?  I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours!

It seems to have turned in to autumn while I was away.  I’m thinking of wearing my winter coat tomorrow!

This post made my heart very happy.

We went here for a spa day on Saturday and it was complete bliss.  The scones were pretty good too!

I had a birthday.  I’m now 28.  It feels scarily close to the big 3-0.  There was pizza and a Muppets cake and people were overwhelmingly generous and I feel very loved.

We’re having a flat warming party on Saturday.  There will be no stars but lots of leaves, and pumpkins and cider and autumnal goodness.

The Hunger Games is out on dvd.  Peeta looked different in my head but overall I loved it.

And finally, we’re off to Rome next weekend!  I’ve never been and am super excited.  Have you?  Any tips?

I think you’re doing pretty well – I’m dangerously close to the big 32. 30 seems scary until you get there- then you look around you and realize how much better and more confident you feel than you did in your 20′s. Tis true.

Have fun at your flat warming AND your party!

Rome is lovely!!! Spend a day at Vatican and climb the tower!! go visit the tombs, have you read Angels and Demons? Try to find all the main points in it! Have a pizza outside a restaurant by the pantheon (if raining even more fun!!) enjoy x

Oh my god YES I have the BEST restaurant recommendation in Rome. It is this place, Sora Margherita. SO GOOD. It’s tiny and hard to find (there’s a picture of the door on my blog which might help!) and completely not fancy on the inside, but oh my god the food is INSANELY GOOD. You might need to book a table, it’s 100% worth it though. Cannot recommend it enough. Also, Santa Maria de Trastevere is a lovely church, very atmospheric and it’s a fun area with bars and restaurants. Have fun! x
