You’ve got mail

September 9, 2011

I think this book is the best thing I made for the party; it was certainly the most effortful!  I had an idea that we should have a guestbook for people to write messages for Nicola to take away with her.  Then I started thinking about all the different ways we can keep in touch with her while she’s away, and the book idea evolved into this.  An airmaily book with space for lots of different sorts of messages – facebook, twitter, email, text and (my personal favourite) good old fashioned letters.  I downloaded some templates (from here and here) and a brilliant free font (from here), did some copying and pasting and tweaking in photoshop, and lots of printing and cutting and sticking later this was the result!  The plan is to fill it with photos from the photobooth and post it over to my friend in America.  I’m hoping it will be a lovely reminder of her friends at home, and not just make her miserable and homesick!
