Perfect picnics
We celebrated Mr M’s birthday yesterday with an indoor picnic (complete with picnic rug, balloons and paper bunting!) and it’s put me in the mood for all things picnicky. Don’t these ones look blissful?
It seems I’m not the only one with picnics on the brain – this post by Domesticali is entertaining, although I still can’t get over people taking gazebos to their child’s sports day! It wasn’t like that in my young day …
Whether seaside, countryside or streetside (yes, I just made that up), isn’t a picnic the perfect way to eat? But I’m curious – what are your picnic staples? Our favourites include hardboiled eggs and potato salad, but I’m always tempted to do something ridiculous (like this) or a bit special (like this). What do you think?
If you can’t get outside for a picnic this weekend (because of weather, or work, or whatever else you have going on) why not try this amazingly super fun picnic in a box?! Get instructions over at designsponge. It would certainly brighten up a dreary day!

I LOVE the streetside (hehe!) picnic. I was hoping for a sunny 4th of July to have a BBQ picnic, but alas! the forecast calls for more rain and storms. Oh well, we’ll take the rain while we can get it and celebrate Independence Day indoors.
I am planning a picnic for my son’s birthday with a bunting motif on the invites, cake toppers, decorations etc.
We are having mini pizzas and baby quiches but I do love that loaf box idea – only, what would you do with the insides? You can only have so much breadcrumbs!

Charlotte, freeze them! I always have a bag of breadcrumbs in the freezer ready to go. And a bunting themed picnic sounds super!
