Happy birthday, Christine!

It’s my good internet friend Christine‘s 25th birthday today, and she’s off celebrating in Disneyland, one of her favourite places! To help ease the transition into her second quarter century I thought I’d put together a special birthday blog of things she likes in cake form. Cakes of Christine’s favourite things? Sounds like as good a way to celebrate as any! First up isn’t really a cake, but it is very Disney, as to celebrate Disneyland’s 25th birthday they turned Cinderella’s castle into a giant birthday cake. Perfect for a Disney fan who is turning 25!

Christine is an even bigger Harry Potter fan than I am, so I had to include an HP cake. There are millions out there to choose from, but I went for this one because it also references the potter puppet pals, which are awesome. Snape Snape Severus Snape …

Not the most brilliant cake in the world, but Christine’s love for Jane Austen is so strong that I had to include her somehow. It’s surprising how few Jane Austen cakes there are out there …

Christine loves Lord of the Rings, especially Gandalf, so how could I possibly resist this fabulous hobbit house cake? Isn’t it brilliant?!
Finally, Christine is a huge fan of tv show Mad Men, but I really struggled to find a Mad Men themed cake. There’s this, and this, and this, but I can’t help feeling that there’s something particularly disgusting about a cake decorated with cigarettes! So in the absence of a cake I’ve made this celebratory Mad Men Christine over at MadMenYourself.com. Happy birthday Christine! I hope you’ve had a wonderful day!

OH MY GOODNESS, I LOVE IT! Thank you ever so much, dear friend Kate! I want all of these cakes—in my belly!
How sad there are so few Austen cakes, we should remedy this situation. I am so happy—this has totally made my birthday!
I’m so glad you like it! What are friends for, eh?
